FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) β€” Two people familiar with the trade tell The Associated Press that the New York Jets have acquired wide receiver Percy Harvin from the Seattle Seahawks. The 26-year-old Harvin has played in only 43 career games since being a first-round pick by Minnesota in 2009. He had two rushes for 45 yards and ran back the second-half kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown in Seattle’s 43-8 win over Denver in the Super Bowl last February.

NEW YORK (AP) β€” The NFL has confirmed a $25,000 fine assessed to Cincinnati linebacker Vontaze Burfict for twisting an opponent’s leg twice after the play was over in Sunday’s tie against Carolina. Panthers quarterback Cam Newton and tight-end Greg Olsen were the victims. Chicago safety Ryan Mundy has been fined $22,050 for striking Falcons receiver Roddy White in the head and neck area in the win at Atlanta.

LOS ANGELES (AP) β€” Newly-hired Los Angeles Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman says he will retain Don Mattingly as manager and plans to hire a new general manager. Friedman was introduced at Dodger Stadium on Friday after helping the Tampa Bay Rays become contenders. Ned Colletti was shifted from the GM job to senior adviser to team president and CEO Stan Kasten.

NEW YORK (AP) β€” Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic (LOO’-cheech) has been fined $5,000 by the NHL for making an obscene gesture at the fans in Montreal on Thursday. Lucic taunted the crowd and then mimicked raising the Stanley Cup while entering the penalty box in Boston’s 6-4 loss to the Canadiens. Lucic has not been well-liked in Montreal since last year’s playoffs, when he threatened Dale Weise in the handshake line after the Canadiens eliminated the Bruins in seven games.

LAS VEGAS (AP) β€” Andrew Putnam birdied two of the last three holes for a 6-under 65 and a share of the second-round lead with Russell Knox in the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. Putnam is at 10-under at the midway mark of his fourth PGA Tour event. Knox had six birdies and two bogeys in a 4-under 67.
