LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) β€” Chris Sadberry struck out a career-high eight Saturday, and Texas Tech held off the College of Charleston 1-0 in the opener of an NCAA super regional. PINEHURST, N.C. (AP) β€” Jason Millard was disqualified from the U.S. Open on Saturday after reporting a self-imposed penalty for grounding his club in a bunker in sectional qualifying. Millard, a former Middle Tennessee State player who qualified in Memphis, Tennessee, with two rounds of 68, was playing his third shot on the 18th hole on Colonial Country Club’s North Course β€” his 27th hole of the day β€” when the penalty occurred. The U.S. Open begins Thursday at Pinehurst No. 2.

LONG POND, Pa. (AP) β€” Kyle Larson has won the ARCA race at Pocono Raceway. The 21-year-old Larson is one of NASCAR’s brightest young stars and used the race to better learn the track for Sunday’s Sprint Cup race. He led most of the 80 laps on Saturday until a bad restart with about 10 left saw him give up the lead to Mason Mitchell. Larson worked his way back to the lead with three laps left and pulled away into Victory Lane.
