Rain Gear Needed Through the Weekend!
Increasing showers through the weekend with rain totals decreasing the farther east/southeast you travel.
With a ridge of high pressureΒ off the coast of the Mid-Atlantic and Delta racing northeastward, increased moisture will dominate the weekend across the Carolinas. Showers increase through the day on Saturday especially across the Mountains and the Foothills. Some rain will be heavy at times and will likely be numerous northwest of the I-85 corridor. The rain on Sunday will spread into the Piedmont and will be numerous across the entire WCCB area. The Mountains will pick up the most rain through the weekend as they will likely see 2-3”+.
Weekend primary threats:Β
1. Isolated flash flooding is possible especially across the southeast facing slopes of the mountains.
2. Isolated strong storms are possible Sunday afternoon into early evening, but this risk is very low.
NOTE: Delta’s landfall Friday evening was the 10th of the season in the United States. That is the most ever recorded in one season.
