Police: 15-Year-Old Dies After Falling From Back Of Pickup Truck In Lancaster County

LANCASTER, S.C. — A death investigation is underway in Lancaster after a 15-year-old was killed early Sunday morning after falling from the back of a pickup truck, police say.

The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office says the teen was thrown from the back of the moving truck at the intersection of Gillsbrook Road and Plantation Road around 12:30 a.m.

Officers responded to the local hospital around 1:15 a.m. in reference to the unidentified Lancaster victim in critical condition. The teen died due to their injuries just before 2 a.m., the coroner’s office reports.

This is still an active investigation.
