Rain Moves Out, Clouds Remain
Cooler and cloudier conditions arrive for the weekend on the heels of severe weather on Thursday.
Strong-to-severe storms rolled across the Carolinas this Thursday afternoon and evening, but the worst appears to be over. We could be dealing with a few scattered showers and storms overnight into early Friday morning, but these should not become severe. Fortunately, the forecast looks a lot tamer on the backside of the system that just moved through. We’ll be on the chilly side Friday morning as the showers and storms finally clear on out, and it won’t get a lot warmer from there. Expect lows in the 40s and 30s tonight to go along with highs struggling to get out of the 40s and 50s for much of the last day of the workweek. 30s and below-freezing temperatures may welcome us into the weekend Saturday morning before an eventual warm-up to near-normal temperatures by Sunday. Clouds will dominate the skies for much of the weekend, but should at least see *some* sunshine by Monday and Tuesday. Another rainmaking system moves in by midweek, but the next 4-5 days should largely remain dry.
