Tropical Storm Danny Makes Landfall Along the South Carolina Coast
Tropical Storm Danny formed around 3:15 PM and made landfall around 7:50 PM Monday, June 28th. This is our 4th named storm of the 2021 Atlantic Hurricane Season and is the first June named storm to make landfall in South Carolina since Hurricane One of 1867.
Tropical Storm Warnings issued from Edisto Beach to South Santee River South Carolina.
TIMING:
- Will continue to quickly move inland.
IMPACTS:
- Rip current risk is high to moderate from the Virginia coast down to Florida.
- Dangerous surf along the coast.
- Rain and wind of course an impact, but not a huge threat. Possible flooding across portions of coastal South Carolina and Georgia.
IMPACTS FOR THE WCCB AREA:
- Very minimal. Outer rainbands will bring a few showers.
