Β CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte-Mecklenburg’s Deputy Superintendent is now running the district on an interim basis. Β Ann Clark is taking over after Dr. Heath Morrison’s sudden and unexpected resignation this week. Β

Clark sent a message to CMS employees today, saying this has been a “difficult and sometimes painful week” for the district. Β Clark talked to WCCB News @ Ten anchor Will Kennedy Friday about theΒ challenges she faces.

“I do think it will be our budget, and making tough decisions. Β And having to prioritize strategies within that strategic plan,” she said.

Clark says she will continue to implement the district’s 2018 strategic plan. Β The school board says it has no plans to start searching for a new Superintendent at this time.
