LINCOLNTON, N.C. — A Lincoln County man has been charged after deputies say he approached a 12-year-old female waiting on a bus at a western Lincoln County bus stop.
According to officials, the 12-year-old female said she was waiting at the bus stop on Bill Sain Road around 6:20 a.m. when she was approached by Ernest Rose. The man allegedly asked her name and several other questions and then asked her to go with him.
The young girl ran to a neighbor’s house where they called 911. After giving out a description of the suspect, deputies located Rose walking along Bill Sain Road. His residence was located about 100 feet from the bus stop.
The victim was not injured.
Rose is currently in custody under a $75,000 secured bond and is charged with felony attempted child abduction.
