Jordan Staal scored the go-ahead goal and added an assist in the third period, and the Hurricanes beat the Washington Capitals 5-2 on Monday night to force Game 7 in their first-round playoff series.

Traffic Alert: I-277 Bridge Work Continues This Week

Starting Tuesday night, N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will begin installing a barrier wall on Interstate 277, so they safely can begin working on bridge joints on the Outer Loop crossing the railroad tracks, Morehead Street and Mint Street.

Industrial Hemp Grows in North Carolina as Regulations Get Worked Out

"We harvest on the 27th," said Nicole Burnette, while walking through her hydroponic hemp farm in South Charlotte, it's the only fully indoor farm in the area. "This is a variety called baox. It's a high variety in CBD-A," said Burnette. She and her business partner started Queen Hemp Company a year ago. They grow hemp plants indoors and have a contractor extract oils, including CBD. They then sell the oils and infused creams.
