Overnight rain, before sunshine returns

Friday night plans are a go, but things turn chilly, with temperatures slipping close to freezing around the metro area by Saturday morning. Feel-like temperature won't play nice with the teens and 20s taking over. Don’t get too comfortable with the cold though as a big warm-up rolls in for the first day of winter on Sunday. By afternoon, highs reach the lower to mid 60s in Charlotte, giving us a pretty pleasant finish to the last full weekend before Christmas.

Governor Cooper Issues State Of Emergency For N.C. In Response To Severe Weather

Governor Roy Cooper issued a State of Emergency for North Carolina on Wednesday in response to Tropical Depression Fred. He says this will activate the state's emergency operations plan and waive transportation rules to help first responders and the agriculture industry.
