We’ll wake up to plenty of sunshine and a warmer start to the day, with afternoon temperatures quickly climbing into the low 80s. It’ll also turn a bit breezy by the afternoon, with wind gusts around 25 mph at times as our next weather maker starts getting closer. Early-season heat dome brings highest temperatures in years to parts of Eastern US

An intense and nearly historic weather pattern is cooking much of America in a dangerous heat dome this week with triple-digit heat that hasn’t been seen in some places in more than a decade. This heat wave is especially threatening because it’s hitting cities like Boston, New York and Philadelphia with near-record temperatures.
