At least ten people were killed in the Carolinas after severe weather moved through the southeast early Monday morning. The storms also caused widespread power outages throughout North Carolina and South Carolina.
Strong storms pounded the Deep South on Sunday, killing at least six people in south Mississippi and damaging up to 300 homes and other buildings in northern Louisiana.
Strong storms that brought tornadoes, high winds, hail and rain to parts of the Midwest and South caused extensive damage in some areas but no deaths, officials said Sunday.
