Tonight, the weather turns much more active. Showers and a few thunderstorms will become more numerous through the evening, and some of these could produce some pretty heavy rain. It won’t rain nonstop for everyone, but there will be enough activity around that you’ll want to keep the umbrella close if you’re heading out. Temperatures will settle into the upper 60s and low 70s overnight.

The Department of Transportation in Newton says they have prepped the roads with 22,000 gallons of brine ahead of the storm.
