Another Dover win for Johnson…Love staying with Cavs…Bowditch wins Nelson

DOVER, Del. (AP) — Jimmie Johnson continued his string of success at Dover International Speedway by winning the Fed-Ex 400, finishing just ahead of Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch and Kasey Kahne (kayn). Johnson led the final 23 laps and became the fifth NASCAR driver with at least 10 Sprint Cup victories at the same track. He leads the circuit with four wins this year.

DETROIT (AP) — Sebastian Bourdais (bohr-DAY’) finished first in the second of two IndyCar weekend races in Detroit. The race was shortened from 70 laps to 68 because of a two-hour time limit. The winner of the first race on Saturday was Carlos Munoz, who finished last in the second race.

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio (AP) — Injured forward Kevin Love says he will exercise his option to remain with the Cleveland Cavaliers next season. The former All-Star suffered a severe shoulder injury in the final game of the first round playoff series with Boston. Love averaged 16.4 points and 9.7 rebounds as a first-year Cavalier this season.

IRVING, Texas (AP) — Steven Bowditch shot a final round 5-under-64 to finish 18-under-par and capture the PGA’s Byron Nelson Classic in Irving, Texas. Bowditch finished four shots in front of Charley Hoffman, Scott Pinkney and Jimmy Walker. Both of Bowditch’s career PGA titles have come in Texas.

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Anna Nordqvist is the winner of the LPGA’s ShopRite Classic in New Jersey. She completed the third and final round with a 2-under-69 to finish play 8-under-par, one shot in front of Christel Boeljon (KRIS’-tul BOOL’-yuhn). Morgan Pressel (PREH’-sel) finished tied for third, three back.
