OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving is being evaluated and there is no word yet on his availability for Game 2 of the NBA Finals.
Irving limped off the court with an injured left knee during overtime of Cleveland’s 108-100 loss to Golden State on Thursday night. He left the arena on crutches, and Cavs coach David Blatt says he heard Irving was still on crutches Friday morning.
Blatt says the team hopes Irving will be healthy, but adds, “as far as how we prepare, we’ve been through this.”
Irving missed two games during the Eastern Conference finals but had played well Thursday, finishing with 23 points before leaving.
Game 2 is Sunday night.
