Indian Land Residents: If We Don’t Shoot You, We’ll Shoot You On Camera

Deputies search for three suspects in car break-ins

INDIAN LAND, SC — Residents in one Indian Land neighborhood are warning the thieves who broke into their cars. The three suspects were caught on surveillance video Sept. 2 breaking into 13 vehicles in the Lakeview Landing neighborhood. Now, people are starting to use the stolen items.

For three minutes, the surveillance camera captures three people breaking into cars on Marthas Vinyard Dr., Point Carpenter Rd. and Lakeview Landing Rd.

“It’s just stupid criminals,” said Heidi Grabowski. “They’re not sophisticated.”

The males repeatedly show their faces on camera while a family sleeps inside the home.

“If we don’t shoot you, we’ll shoot ya on camera,” said Grabowski.

A warning we heard around the Lakeview Landing neighborhood in Indian Land.

“Don’t come into our homes and threaten us,” said Grabowski.

“There’s a lot of people that have guns in their houses now,” said Rod Trump.

Victims were eager to talk to WCCB Charlotte, ready to stop the crime before it worsens.

“I think the area is just developing, and, unfortunately, what comes with developing areas is higher crime,” said Grabowski.

Lancaster County Deputies agree, saying criminals from surrounding cities like Charlotte have been known to duck into Indian Land unrecognized and vanish across the state boarder in minutes.

In this case, video shows the thieves wore gloves. So, no fingerprints. They didn’t shut the car doors. So, no noise alerted anyone.

“It’s very eerie,” said Grabowski. “They’re very bold in it, and it’s very disrespectful.”

Deputies are relieved no one left a gun in their car for the thieves. The suspects stole wallets, change. Investigators have released a photo of a woman caught on camera using a stolen credit card in Rock Hill.

Deputies want to talk to her to find out where she got the card.

They’re also warning residents to take their belongings out of the cars and lock the vehicles from now on.
