“F— That Car Is Moving!!!” Panthers’ WR Stopped In I-77 Workzone After Preseason Opener Against Bills

CHARLOTTE, NC — A Panthers wide receiver was in too big of a hurry to get home following his return from the August 9th preseason opener against the Bills in Buffalo, according to troopers.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol says D.J. Moore was pulled over just before 3am on August 10th. Troopers say the Panthers’ WR was going roughly 113 mph in a 65 mph work zone on I-77 near W.T. Harris Boulevard.

In a report, a trooper described Moore approaching him from behind in his white 2017 Mercedes Benz as, “White headlamps rolling behind me. Speed estimation was, “F— that car is moving!!!””

Troopers say Moore was polite and cooperative during the stop. Moore reportedly told officials they had just landed and were trying to get home when the stop occurred.

Moore has been charged with Speeding and Speeding in a Work Zone >80 mph or >15 mph Over. His court date is scheduled for early October.
