Missing Avery County Father, Son Found Safe In Alabama
Authorities say Daniel Bledsoe and his son Wesley have been found safe.
The father and son were located at a family member’s home in Alabama, according to Alabama authorities. They are expected to return to North Carolina on Friday.
Officials did not provide any other details regarding their disappearance.

ELK PARK, NC — An Avery County father and son are missing after officials say they left for school and disappeared.
Officials say Daniel Bledsoe left with his 7-year-old son, Wesley Bledsoe early Thursday morning to drive him to a nearby school bus stop. Bledsoe’s wife became concerned however, when her husband failed to return home and then school officials told her Wesley never arrived.
Avery County deputies say they were last seen in a white 2007 Honda CRV that has damage to the driver’s side front quarter panel and NC license plate number PJD-4208.
Wesley is described as a white male, roughly 4 feet tall, weighing 50 pounds, with dark blonde hair.
