Continued sunshine before rain moves into the mountains later tonight
Rain chances increase Thursday afternoon through the holiday weekend
As we head into Wednesday night, changes begin to develop off to our west. A few showers and maybe even an isolated thunderstorm could start popping up across the mountains late in the evening as the next system gets closer. For areas east of the mountains, the weather should stay mainly quiet and dry through the evening hours.
Thursday marks the beginning of a more unsettled stretch. A slow-moving cold front will edge toward theΒ region, bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms by Thursday afternoon. Right now, it looks like that front may slow down and stall nearby, which would keep off-and-on rain chances in the forecast heading into at least part of Memorial Day weekend. Each afternoon into the evening hours from Thursday to next Tuesday our viewers should remain weather wise Β with rain and storms expected.
At this point, widespread heavy rain is not expected, but many communities could still see anywhere from around a half inch to an inch of rainfall between Thursday and the weekend.
The added clouds and rain chances will also help knock temperatures down a bit, bringing cooler weather back for the holiday weekend.
