DENVER, N.C. — Police say a suspicious vehicle call led to a Catawba County man being charged with statutory rape. Β
Officers were called out to investigate a suspicious vehicle parked behind the CVS on Webbs Road. Β Detectives say they found 24-year-old Darrick Fowler and a 14-year-old teenager partially clothed inside the car. Β Police determined the two were having sex inside the vehicle. Β
Fowler has been charged with statutory rape and crime against nature. Β The female was turned over to her mother. Β
