GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) β€” Furman has added Duquesne transfer Isaiah Watkins to its men’s basketball team. Coach Niko Medved announced the move Monday. Watkins is a 6-foot-8 forward who played 16 games last winter as a freshman for Duquesne. He’ll sit out next season in compliance with NCAA transfer rules and have three years of eligibility at Furman.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) β€” South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley is turning to softball to help an effort for her INNERSOLE charity. Staley will help host a celebrity game on July 19th between Gamecock coaches and celebrities.

WACO, Texas (AP) β€” Alexis Jones is going to Baylor after starting every game she played at Duke the past two seasons. Baylor announced Monday that Jones had signed a financial aid agreement to attend the Big 12 school. She tore the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee in February and missed Duke’s last seven games.

MIAMI (AP) β€” Josh McRoberts has agreed to sign a four-year contract with the Miami Heat, a deal that could be worth about $23 million. His agent, Mike Conley Sr., said Monday McRoberts will get the full mid-level exception, starting at about $5.3 million next season. McRoberts averaged 8.5 points in 78 starts for Charlotte last season.
