(AP) β Embattled College of Charleston men’s basketball coach Doug Wojcik won’t be allowed to recruit on the road after a school report found it likely he verbally abused players and other personnel. The school issued a statement Tuesday saying Wojcik could attend meetings in Charleston but not travel.
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) β The Grand Strand has gotten a Big Break. The Golf Channel’s series latest chapter was filmed at several courses in Myrtle Beach. The show will premiere October 7th. Six men and six women seeking a jumpstart to their golf careers will take part in several competitions at Barefoot Resort.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) β The Hornets are turning to a pair of young, inexperienced power forwards after losing Josh McRoberts in free agency. McRoberts was the one player coach Steve Clifford said the team couldn’t afford to lose this offseason. Yet he’s headed out the door. The Miami Heat announced Monday they intend to sign McRoberts.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) β NASCAR has penalized Kurt Busch and his Stewart-Haas Racing team for failing a post-race inspection at Daytona International Speedway. Crew chief Daniel Knost was fined $10,000 on Tuesday because the track bar on Busch’s Chevrolet exceeded the maximum separation.
