Kate Winslet is the latest celebrity to take a stand against retouched photos. The actress revealed Thursday that her new Lancome ads would be free of airbrushing, thanks to a stipulation she negotiated in her contract.
Speaking to E News about the decision, Winslet said, “We have a responsibility to the younger generation of women.”
And Winslet isn’t alone. Wednesday, actress and singer Zendaya says she was “shocked” to discover her hips and torso had been slimmed in photos taken for the November issue of Modeliste. Zendaya posted the before and after pics side by side on Instagram saying, “These are the things that make women self-conscious.”
As a result, the magazine says it’s pulling the November issue to re-edit the photos.
That brings us to our Question of the Night: Is Photoshop dangerous?
