Shooting In Northwest Charlotte Leaves Child With Minor Injuries

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A 10-year-old boy was shot while playing in his front yard Sunday evening.

CMPD confirmed that the boy was shot in the leg while playing in his front yard off of Eneida Sue Road. Police say that the boy was not the intended target, but suffered minor injuries. The boy was transported to Carolina’s Medical Center.

Police are treating the case as a drive-by. Detectives are searching for a vehicle, but are withholding the description while they investigate the surrounding areas.

No word yet on suspects or who an intended target might have been.
