Locals Make Mad Dash to Play 900 Million Dollar Powerball

“I figured I try my luck because everybody say I’m the luckiest man in the world,” said David Peoples.

Including David Peoples who says he’s never played Powerball.  But wanted to test fate inside this Shell gas station in Southwest Charlotte.

“I don’t know they say everything I do I always win, so I said this might really be the time to try it out lol,” says Peoples.

He wasn’t the only one feeling lucky, Cina Sanders of Steele Creek was excited.

“It jumped again that’s why I drew more cash out,” says Sanders.

Sanders already placed her bets, and is doubling her chances of winning.

“I’m so excited because I have 40 dollars that says I’m doing this again on a double ticket so we’re good,” says Sanders.

Even though the odds of winning are 1 in 292 million, many say its worth it!

“Of course because sometimes and I’m a chance taker you got to take a chance,” says Sanders.

And have already dreamed of what to do with the cash,

“I’d take care of all my family always wanted to do that,” says Peoples.

Alesia Dowling of South Charlotte says, “I would share it and just thank God for being blessed.”

“Make sure my kids were straight, get new cars and then I would disappear for a little while,” says Sanders.
