Thursday will be another hot and humid day with highs in the low 90s under increasing cloud cover. Scattered showers and storms are possible during the afternoon and evening. Depending on the track of Tropical Storm Hermine, some rain may linger into Friday. The best chance for rain will remain south and east of Charlotte. As Hermine pulls away from the area, skies will clear with less humidity and cooler temperatures returning to the area. Saturday through Labor Day look beautiful with highs in the low to mid 80s and overnight lows in the low 60s.
*Tropical storm Hermine is in the Gulf of Mexico and will gradually strengthen over the next 48 hours. This storm will make landfall in the northwest corner of Florida as it tracks northeast. The biggest impacts will be felt south and east of Charlotte with heavy rain and gusty winds. Along the coast, rip currents will be a concern through the upcoming weekend. This storm will clear the entire region by early Saturday with a pleasant weekend expected from the beach to the mountains.*
