Another SIM Missionary Doctor Tests Positive For Ebola

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Officials say another SIM missionary doctor has tested positive for Ebola.  SIM USA says the American doctor was not treating Ebola patients but was instead treating obstetrics patients in Monrovia.  The Ebola isolation unit was in a separate area of the ELWA hospital.

Officials do not know at this time how the doctor contracted the virus.  SIM says the doctor immediately isolated himself and has been transferred to the Ebola isolation unit.  Authorities say he is doing well and is in good spirits.

This is the third American to contract the virus.  Nancy Writebol and Dr. Ken Brantly were flown to America and treated for the virus at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.  Both were discharged from the hospital after testing negative for the virus last month.
