Big Names and Celebrities Campaign in Charlotte for Presidential Candidates

CHARLOTTE, NC – Jon Bon Jovi entertained the crowd at a free concert at The Fillmore Sunday night, while urging people to vote for Hillary Clinton.
“Each and every one of your votes really matter on Tuesday,” Bon Jovi told the crowd.
Hundreds lined up early to be there – whether they support Clinton or not.
“It was pretty much a given when they said free Bon Jovi, I’m gonna come,” says Waxhaw, NC resident Amy Holcomb.
Holcomb lined up before 8:00 Sunday morning. She is a Clinton supporter but is an even bigger Bon Jovi fan.
She knows some don’t care much about the politics involved.
“There are some people who just want to see Bon Jovi, yes,” she says.
But at this point, candidates are doing whatever they can to spark attention – to get people to notice them before Election Day.
Along with Bon Jovi, we’ve seen celebrities like Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Pharrell appearing across the country to drum up support for Clinton.
Donald Trump sent his number two Mike Pence to Hickory Sunday.
“Until very recently, it seemed like he was out there fighting all on his own. But now this movement is coming together. North Carolina is coming together,” Pence told the crowd.
And Monday, former Vice-Presidential nominee Sarah Palin will be in Mooresville as part of a Women for Trump bus tour.
Back at the concert, Diane Bolster says if nothing else, events like this are a way to take something positive away from the campaign.
“To make you feel good about what you’re doing. Positive about what you’re doing. Not just.. ah better than the other guy,” she explains.
