WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – A mother and son from Huntersville are facing charges after being accused of embezzling over $20,000 in homeowners’ premium payments, according to the North Carolina Department of Insurance.
Officials said the crime was committed on February 23rd, 2023. Tracie Famber, 59, and Terrance Hunter, 40, allegedly acquired $20,662.95 in homeowners’ premium payments from one client.
Famber and Hunter turned themselves in to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, April 4th. Both were charged with one felonious count of embezzlement.
Famber was issued a $25,000 bond. Hunter received a $20,000 bond. They are scheduled to appear in court in Forsyth County on Friday, May 3rd.
The two were previously charged with embezzlement in Mecklenburg and Richmond County.
