Amanda Fitzpatrick is an award winning journalist with 13 years television news experience.

In September 2015, she joined the WCCB-TV news team as the new 6&10pm Weekend Anchor. You can also catch her reports three nights a week on CW news @ 10pm.

Amanda is a North Carolina native and super excited to be returning back home near family and friends. Before joining WCCB, she spent five years working in Dallas, Texas; one of the fifth largest TV markets.

While working as the 5&9pm Anchor/Reporter at CW33 in Dallas, she was nominated for 3 Lone Star EMMY awards.

She was also nominated for 5 “Salute to Excellence” in reporting awards by the National Association of Black Journalists, winning 3 coveted trophies.

While reporting at NBC5 in Dallas, she was the go-to reporter, covering sports, weather, breaking news, crime and politics. Most notably, reporting for multiple NBC affiliates during SuperBowl XLV, where she led National coverage for more than 12 hours on the crazy ice storm that shutdown the city.

Before working in Dallas, she was a reporter at the ABC station in her hometown of Raleigh-Durham, NC. While at WTVD, she covered the 2008 presidential campaign. Even traveling to DC to cover the Inauguration of President Barack Obama for ABC network. Other stops include reporting in beautiful Charleston, SC and Albany, GA.

In December 2014, she was honored to receive the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hero award by the Cultivating Leaders Achieving Scholastic Success non-profit organization in Irving, Texas. She was also named “2014 People to Watch” by Dallas Weekly newspaper and an Honorary Grand Marshall of the Elite News MLK parade in Dallas. In December 2013, she beat out thousands of nominees and was named by D Magazine as one of the “Top 10 Most Beautiful Women in Dallas.”

Amanda enjoys speaking to students and mentoring young journalists. She is an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and is looking forward to getting to know Charlotte.
