Man Kills Wife, Friend’s Husband In Rowan County Double Homicide
WOODLEAF, N.C. – A man has been charged with two counts of murder after allegedly killing his wife and another man in a double homicide in Woodleaf on Saturday morning, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
It happened at a home on Old Oak Lane near Woodleaf Road.
The sheriff’s office began investigating the incident after a woman, Amanda Burr, called 911 around 8:45 a.m. Saturday morning. She allegedly told them that a friend, Jonathan Freeman, sent her a photo of her husband, Bryan Burr, dead in their home.
Deputies also said they received a report that Jonathan’s wife, Teri, was dead in the home.
When the deputies arrived, Jonathan was at the scene and confirmed that both Bryan and Teri were dead inside from gunshot wounds, the sheriff’s office said.
Jonathan was charged with two counts of murder after evidence was collected from the home along with incriminating statements he made to people after the killings, the sheriff’s office said.
Jonathan is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center without bond. His first court appearance is Tuesday, September 17th.
He lived with his wife Teri in Lexington, North Carolina.
