Prom Project Receives Hundreds Of Dresses, Now Need Racks To Hold Them

CHARLOTTE, NC — Hundreds of dresses have already been donated to the Girl Talk Foundation, Inc. and Charlotte Mecklenburg Library’s 15th Annual Prom Project, but officials say they are now in need of additional dress racks.

According to a release, over 500 dresses have been donated for area high school girls in need of prom attire this year. Officials say that the massive amount of dress donations however, has also raised a need for more dress racks.

Girl Talk Foundation, Inc. Executive Director Janine Davis says, “We are so excited the Charlotte area community has answered our request to donate their gently used and new prom attire for girls, but now realize we need additional dress racks to ensure we create the boutique experience for the girls when they select their dresses.”

Girl Talk says they are looking to borrow four to five commercial dress racks that can hold 40-50 dresses per rack. Any boutiques, stores, and clothing shops that may be able to loan these type of racks for use during the Prom Project is asked to contact Girl Talk Foundation, Inc. and Prom Project Co-Lead, Sokoya Lindsay at 704-968-8099 or email at sokoyal@girltalkfoundationinc.com.

Dress donations can also still be dropped off through February 28th at the following locations:
