Police say Charlotte Man Overdoses on Heroin Twice in a Week
CHARLOTTE, NC – Police say a South Charlotte man overdosed on heroin twice in a week.
WCCB Charlotte went to 37-year-old Kristopher Anderson’s home in the quiet Raintree neighborhood Tuesday.
Anderson’s mom didn’t want to talk on camera, but told WCCB she saved her son’s life by administering an overdose drug Sunday.
Just five days earlier, Anderson was found on the floor of a McDonald’s bathroom in Southeast Charlotte.
Police found a white powder they believe was heroin mixed with fentanyl.
The risk of coming in contact with the dangerous additive means first responders are having to suit up and use more time and resources to protect themselves.
Fentanyl is 50 to 100 times more powerful than morphine and heroin.
It can be inhaled, ingested, and absorbed through the skin.
