North Carolina fugitive arrested in California after 18 years on the run
ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. – A fugitive wanted for first-degree murder in North Carolina was arrested in Los Angeles, California after 18 years on the run, according to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.
On May 15, 2007, a Robeson County Grand Jury indicted Omar Gray for first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.
Following the indictment, a nationwide manhunt was launched, and Gray earned a spot on America’s Most Wanted.
In January of 2025, Gray was arrested in Los Angeles on unrelated charges under the alias “Timothy Bloxson.” His real identity was uncovered after he went through the booking process and was fingerprinted. A certified latent print examiner confirmed that “Bloxson” was Gray.
Gray was extradited to North Carolina where he was formally arrested on January 28. He is still in custody and is awaiting further legal proceedings.
