Greater Charlotte Auto Dealers Association Hosts 3rd Annual Auto Tech Competition on March 18th at the Charlotte Motor Speedway

CHARLOTTE, NC – The Greater Charlotte Auto Dealers Association is gearing up for the 3rd Annual Auto Tech Competition, a premier event that celebrates the future of the automotive workforce. The event will take place on Tuesday, March 18th, at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, offering an exciting day filled with dynamic competition, career exploration, and networking opportunities for local area school students and industry professionals.

The Auto Tech Competition is designed to bring together the brightest young minds from local high schools and the local franchise automotive dealers world for a hands-on, skill-building experience. Students from area schools will learn hands inside dealerships weeks leading up to the event to then compete in a series of technical challenges for college scholarships, network with top employers, and explore career opportunities within the automotive industry.

Event Schedule:
7:30am – 8:15am – Check-in & Breakfast
8:15am – 8:45am – Orientation
9:00am – 10:30am – Interview Sessions
9:00am – 1:00pm – Career Fair with Area Schools (Grades 6-12)
10:45am – 11:00am – Team Pictures
11:00am – 1:00pm – On-Vehicle Competition
1:00pm – 2:00pm – Team & Sponsor Luncheon
1:00pm – 2:00pm – Dealer & Student Competitor Q&A (Parents are welcome)
2:30pm – 3:15pm – Winner Circle (Parents are welcome)

The event will feature live on vehicle competitions where students will demonstrate their technical skills and problem-solving abilities. Teams will showcase their expertise in on-vehicle challenges, working on new vehicles and technologies. Alongside the competitions, the career fair will provide students with an invaluable opportunity to connect with regional dealers, manufacturers, community colleges, and partners. The day will also include a Team & Sponsor Luncheon, where students and partners can discuss future opportunities, as well as a Dealer & Student Competitor Q&A session. Parents are encouraged to attend and take part in the exciting discussions and activities.

The day will culminate with the “Winner Circle” ceremony, where the winning teams will be recognized and celebrated for their outstanding achievements.
