Portion Of David Cox Road Closed Until Saturday Due To Repairs

CHARLOTTE, NC — Officials now say it could be Saturday before a portion of David Cox Road reopens in north Charlotte.

The road was closed Thursday between West Sugar Creek and Old Sugar Creek Road after a water main break caused part of the eastbound lane to collapse. Officials say a new storm water pipe is being installed at the break site, and then CDOT will have to come in to stabilize and repave the road.

Officials now expect the road to be closed in that area until Saturday evening. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes if possible.
