CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The city’s Citizens Review Board came to a split decision Thursday morning in the Keith Scott shooting investigation.
The CRB voted 4-4 this morning after two days of closed door meetings and hearing testimony regarding the September 2016 fatal shooting. The board usually consists of 11 members, but were down to eight due to two absences and a vacancy.
The City of Charlotte tweeted out the following statement following the announcement of the board’s decision:
The board had requested this second hearing back in June, after finding potential errors in CMPD’s decision that Scott’s shooting was justified.
CRB members did vote 8-0 for policy change, and say they will offer recommendations for those changes. The board said they will not discuss those suggestions with the public however.
