Tweetsie Railroad 2025 opening day announced

North Carolina’s oldest theme park Tweetsie Railroad announced Friday that it will open its 2025 season on April 5.

“For generations, Tweetsie Railroad has been a place where families come to connect, explore, and make lifelong memories,” said Chris Robbins, president of Tweetsie Railroad. “Whether it’s a child experiencing their first train ride, parents reliving their own childhood visits, or grandparents sharing the joy with their grandchildren, no one is left out of the fun. We’re excited to welcome everyone back for another season of adventure.”

The amusement park will be open on Saturdays and Sundays only from April 5 through May 26. It will then open Thursday-Monday beginning May 27 through Aug. 11.

Admission is $65 for adults, $45 for children 3-12 and free for children 2 and under. Guests can save $10 on a Golden Rail season pass if purchased by March 31.

Passholders receive unlimited daytime visits along with:

  • One free Bring-a-Friend ticket
  • Admission to all 2025 daytime special events
  • A complimentary train ride during Day Out With Thomas
  • $20 off Ghost Train® and Tweetsie Christmas® tickets
  • Priority special event booking before the public

The first special event of the season is the Easter Bunny’s visit on April 19 and 20. Other events planned for 2025 include:

  • Day Out With Thomas™ from June 6-9 and 12-15
  • July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza on July 4
  • K-9s In Flight Frisbee Dogs on July 19-21 and 24-27
  • Riders In The Sky on August 16-17
  • Railroad Heritage Weekend on August 23-24
  • Ghost Train ® on Friday and Saturday evenings, September 19 – November 1
  • Tweetsie Christmas ® on select evenings, November 28 – December 30

Tweetsie Railroad is North Carolina’s first theme park and offers live shows, classic amusement rides, the Deer Par Zoo, gem mining, and more.
