LAS VEGAS (AP) β Actor James Woods and actress Jennifer Tilly are out of contention for the World Series of Poker’s championship no-limit Texas Hold ’em main event.
Woods went all-in with a pair of aces but lost to a three-of-a-kind of queens just before midnight Wednesday. A pair of queens ultimately ended Tilly’s aspirations earlier in the evening. Chris Moneymaker, who boosted poker’s profile with his 2003 win as an amateur, is also out.
Player Jorryt van Hoof, among the final nine last year, was eliminated Wednesday night, too.
All four were on their second day of playing poker.
Thousands of others start their second day at noon in hopes of winning the main event’s $7.68 million prize when the final nine players return in November.
