GOLD HILL, NC – A wreck involving a tanker truck carrying explosives closed parts of several roads in Rowan County around 2:30 Tuesday afternoon.
The Rockwell Rural Fire Department says the truck overturned on High Rock Road.
Rowan County Emergency Services says residents and businesses within a one-mile radius of the scene were told to shelter in place as a precaution, while crews assessed and handled the situation.
Nobody got hurt and the roads reopened within a couple of hours.
