Clouds build into Easter, remaining warm
Rain chances rise as a sluggish system approaches the Carolinas on Tuesday.
Easter weekend is off to a toasty start, and we can expect more of the same as we head into our holiday Sunday. Highs will once again rise into the mid-to-upper 80s across the Piedmont and Foothills to close out the weekend despite mostly cloudy skies building in by the afternoon. Monday is setting up to be a similar day with afternoon temperatures making it into the 70s and 80s across the board.
The first real signs of change arrive on Tuesday as a sluggish rainmaking system approaches from the west. Overall, models aren’t too impressed with this system as it arrives – count on only a few isolated showers and thunderstorms in the WCCB Charlotte viewing area for now. While it may not bring much rain on Tuesday, this system will likely stall and fall apart over the Carolinas shortly after arriving, keeping humidity levels relatively high through much of the week ahead. The increased moisture paired with the heat will allow for pop-up shower and thunderstorm chances into the back half of the workweek.
