Hauntingly beautiful Halloween, frosty start to weekend

The Queen City may see its first frost of the season Saturday morning as lows dip into the upper 30s around the Metro.

Happy Halloween and happy Friday! October is clearly saving its best weather for last as highs rise into the mid-60s across the Piedmont and Foothills to go along with plentiful sunshine. You will, however, feel a chill run down your spine as your little ghouls and goblins hit the streets for trick-or-treating tonight as lows dip into the 20s and 30s across the board. Frost Advisories have been posted for much of the Metro overnight into Saturday morning; the Queen City may see its first frost of the season to kick off the weekend.

Despite the chilly start, sunny skies and comfy cool highs continue into the Halloweekend. Unfortunately, mostly cloudy skies return by Sunday afternoon as a trough sweeps into the Southeast; rain chances quickly follow suit. While models agree that not everyone will see moisture Sunday night into Monday morning, scattered showers will show up on the peripheries of the WCCB Charlotte viewing area in the High Country and Sandhills as a coastal low develops along the dip in the jet stream. Next week looks to be sunny more often than not as highs around the Metro steadily rise near 70° by next Thursday and Friday.
