Wilson’s World: Previewing the 2018 Tega Cay Polar Plunge

TEGA CAY, S. C. – The Tega Cay Police Department and area York County schools are teaming up again to take the plunge into Lake Wylie to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics of South Carolina.  Wilson was at Gold Hill Middle School this morning giving us a preview of the upcoming February 3rd event.

The event has become such a big success in part because of the participation of students from local high schools.  The kids really get into it bringing some heavy duty competition to the plunge.

The plunge will be held at the Tega Cay Beach Club in Tega Cay on Saturday, February 3rd with coffee and donuts at 9am.  The awards begin at 10:30am with lunch at 11am.  The big plunge then takes place at noon.

But, if taking a leap into the chilly waters of Lake Wylie on a February day is just a little too cold for you, you can still help by donating to the Special Olympics of S.C.  For more information on the plunge and how you can sign up, help or donate go the website HERE.
