Suspect Wanted For Armed Bank Robbery In Lumberton, NC Apprehended In Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police have arrested the fourth suspect wanted in connection to a bank robbery in Lumberton last week.

CMPD’s SWAT team arrested Demetrius ‘Boo Boo’ Robinson around 12:30pm on Clairemore Place. Robinson was one of four suspects wanted in connection to a robbery at the PNC Bank in Lumberton on January 23rd.

According to officials, four heavily armed suspects entered the bank on North Chestnut Street around 3:30pm and stole an undisclosed amount of money. After spotting their getaway car, Lumberton Police officers say they chased the suspects out of city limits and where shot at several times during the pursuit.

The suspects eventually stopped and fired several more rounds at pursuing officers, officials say, before taking off on foot along various spots of Old Whiteville Road in both Robeson and Columbus Counties.

Over the next few days, a statewide manhunt involving multiple federal, state, and local agencies culminated in the following charges and arrests:

  • Jeramie Vaughn, 29, of Whiteville, NC – One count each of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Conspiracy to Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon, two counts of second-degree Kidnapping, and five counts of Assault on Law Enforcement Officers with a Firearm.
  • Rashad Young, 27, of Whiteville, NC – One count each of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Conspiracy to Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon, two counts of second-degree Kidnapping, and five counts of Assault on Law Enforcement Officers with a Firearm.
  • Daquan Pridgen, 26, of Whiteville, NC – Official charges not yet released.
  • Demetrius Robinson, 26, of Whiteville, NC – One count each of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Conspiracy to Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon, five counts of Kidnapping, six counts of Shooting at an Occupied Vehicle, and 10 counts of Attempted Murder.

This investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be added.
