One lane of outbound East Independence Boulevard at Village Lake Drive remains closed following a water main break Tuesday afternoon.
Charlotte Water anticipates having two outbound lanes of Independence Boulevard open before rush our traffic but the right turning lane at Village Lake Drive will remain closed until after 9:30 p.m.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Outbound Independence Boulevard is currently closed at Village Lake Drive due to a large sinkhole resulting from a water main break.
Officials say the road will be closed for several hours while repairs are being completed. Please note this road closure will be in effect throughout the duration of rush hour and likely through the evening.
