Charlotte Knights ask for $26.6 million in tax dollars to renovate and upgrade Truist Field
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Knights are asking for $26.6 million in tax dollars to help renovate and upgrade Truist Field. Half of that money would come from Mecklenburg County and the other half from the City of Charlotte.
The Knights would contribute an additional $13.3 million, of which $5 million has already been spent.
The ballpark opened in 2014. We’ve reached out to the team to ask what specific renovations or upgrades are needed.
