Flood Threat Continues

The remnants of Florence dropped more than a foot of rain for some locations over the weekend. Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Monday for the entire region. Several counties still under a blanket flash flood watch including Stanly, Richmond and Anson. Several rivers and tributaries are also at or just below flood stage. Rocky River at Norwood and the Pee Dee River near Cheraw are at or will reach major flood stage by Tuesday. Flooding threat will remain as runoff will continue to work its way downstream.
A few more showers and storms will be possible today which would only aggravate the flooding situation we have already seen. Fog will also be an issue for folks trying to head out first thing this morning. Drier air will move in by Tuesday, giving us a chance to dry out the rest of the week. Temperatures will remain above average with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
