Man Charged After Deputies Say He Shot Roommate In Wrist For Playing Music Too Loudly

LINCOLNTON, N.C. – An argument between roommates over loud music led to a shooting and an arrest in Lincoln County.

Deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office were called to Lama Lane in Lincolnton on Saturday where a person had been shot in the hand.

Deputies say 61-year-old Eugenio Salgado Cabrera and Oscar Aguilera got into a dispute because one of them was playing his music too loudly.

When Cabrera asked Aguilera to turn down the music, Aguilera refused. Cabrera then took a .22 caliber rifle and shot Aguilera in the wrist, according to deputies.

Aguilera was treated at CHS-Lincoln and released.

Cabrera was taken into custody and charged with one felony count of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

He was taken before a Lincoln County magistrate and placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $9,000 secured bond.
