Wilson’s World: Heading to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Spring 2019 Pennzoil AutoFair
The Pennzoil AutoFair starts today and runs through Sunday.
CONCORD, N.C. –Β The spring 2019Β Pennzoil AutoFair at Charlotte Motor Speedway kicks off at 8am this morning so Wilson was there to find out what new things car fanatics can enjoy at the fair this year.
One of theΒ first things that Wilson found was the Rocket Ship Car that was a carnival ride at Cleveland, Ohio’s Euclid Beach Park.Β The rocket ship car was originally built in 1935 and was a carnival ride until 1969.Β Joe Tomaro has refurbished it and now gives tours in the car.Β More information on the Rocket Ship Car can be found at the website rocketshipcar.com.
America’s Got Talent participant and six time world-record holder strongman JD Anderson, a.k.a. “Iceman,” will also be making appearances at the fair.Β He amazed Wilson with one of his strongman card tricks.Β J.D. will be showcasing his unique abilities 11am, 1pm and 3pm each day near Victory Lane.
Of course Wilson had to do one of his favorite things at the speedway….take a thrill ride.Β He jumped into the passenger seat of a Dodge Charger and took fast ride…with a professional driver of course.Β Visitors at the fair can do the same as well.
Jonathan Coleman with CMS joined Wilson to talk about the cars that are in the Showcase display including Elvis’ 1960 MGA from the movie “Blue Hawaii,” Bonneville Salt Flats Race Cars, and 1959 Ectomobile replica from the cult classic Ghostbusters.Β And Elvis fans can pick up a fried peanut butter and banana sandwich for lunch.
The Pennzoil AutoFair an event for the entire family. Tickets for adults are $13 with kids 13 and under getting in free. There are tons of things to see, do, and eat for everyone.Β For schedule and exhibit information, tickets, parking and directions to CMS go to the website HERE.
