Head of college football playoff system in NC

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) β€” Major college football was determine its national champion on the field for the first time this year, and the man in charge of the new system is scheduled to talk about it in North Carolina.

Bill Hancock, the first executive director of the new College Football Playoff, is scheduled to speak at noon on Wednesday at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel in Durham.

Hancock was previously the full-time director of the NCAA Final Four Men’s Basketball Tournament for 13 years. He then took over to become the first executive director of the Bowl Championship Series.

During his speech, Hancock will present the new playoff, including who manages the new system, how teams are selected, where and when they will play and the national championship game itself.
